a month old already

I can not believe a month has passed already. I never even posted Thalans birth story. Its been so busy and I don't see it slowing down.

December 16th came and I thought I had one more day. Nope wrong. I went for my pre-surgical testing went to grams to play with Kenzie before my last pre natal appointment next thing you know I am at the hospital having my baby boy!

The whole weekend before i felt him move around but not as much as he usually did. When I told my midwife this she immediatly hooked me up to check things out. His heart beat was great-- still nop movement. So she sent me downstairs for an u/s and came with me to try and keep me calm. Still he had a great HB but no movement. My midwife went and talked to the Dr. who decided she didn't want me waiting until morning to have my c-section. It was going to happen that night. I started freaking out, they were honest and said they thought he was fine but weren't sure.So I went back to grams called Sean and my mom set everything up for the kids and grams and went to the birthing center.

I get there and sit in the parking lot crying and praying that my little boy was really ok. I get inside and the nurses were great and very supportive. Sean came with my sister and my midwife came in to check on me and said the Dr. will bne here soon. So my parents got there, and my Sil arrived and we all waited it seemed like forever. Then it all went so qiuck. The Dr. came in around 6:30 then the anesteiologist came in and we signed all the papers and they got Sean scrubs and oked my sister, mom, and sil all to watch the c-section. They took me in got me prepped Sean came in and things were ok. So my Dr. is explaining everything to me and we are all talking like we are out to lunch. She says ok Sean stand up he's coming. Then it all got a little scary. He was stuck and not only did they have to make my incision bigger but they had to vaccum him out. Sean turned white and she kept talking to us.Then it came he cried and well so did I. They got him out and he peed all over them, and wow did he scream, until Sean started talking to him as they were wrapping him up. I couldn't stop crying I just kept asking if he was ok. So the nurse brought him over to me and let me kiss him before he went for his first bath. He was, and Sean went with the nurses to go wash him up and weigh him. My sister stayed with me while they tied my tubes. Then I was taken to my room and was able to hold my little boy.

Thalan James was born December 16,2008 7lbs 4 oz and 19 inches long.

The girls are great with him, and he is a wonderful baby. Kenzie has adjusted way better then we expected and Faith is such a big help.

I am breast feeding but I have been suplementing with formula because he lost to much weight in the hospital. Then didn't gain any by his first appointment. Well at his next weight check he only gained back what he lost and being 3 weeks old at the time the Dr. was concerned. She examined him and realized he has a short frenulum.(the piece of skin underneath his tongue) which is making it so he can not latch properly not only to me but the bottle as well. So this past Tuesday we took him to the ENT and had it cut and he is doing great. Now I just have to get my milk supply up.

So we are adjusting well, I think:) Breastfeeding is the most challenging thing ever and considering its been so cold we don't go out to much yet but I am treasuring it while I can.

I am really going to try to post more. Its my mommy time. HAHA.
